Principal Consultant

John Stevenson is a political and stakeholder communications professional specialising in transport, energy and planning.

He founded Transport and Infrastructure Communications in 2014, after leaving his previous role as Head of Political Communications at an infrastructure consultancy. John manages projects on behalf of T&I clients utilising specialist consultants, as required.

John has worked with a range of organisations - from start-ups, think tanks, campaign initiatives, public trusts, regulators to listed companies - helping them to build industry profile and interpret policy initiatives in order to develop business value through regulatory communications and media relations, high-quality stakeholder campaigns and advocacy. His experience also spans:

  • senior manager- and board-level public policy advice and strategy development
  • development consent orders, planning and public inquiries (applicant and concerned party)
  • press office and crisis communications support, secondments and event management.

John's corporate communications, public affairs and stakeholder relations work has received national recognition.

Lizzy has worked in strategy development and as a project coordinator, research assistant and event organiser for high profile clients and membership organisations in the private, third and public sectors, including the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.
Islay leads on T&I’s intelligence function, delivering tailored reports for clients. She has a public policy, logistics and events background, alongside working on the delivery of Crossrail.
